Initial Projects

Sports Day Event and Library Opening

REAT started with small projects back in 2017–18.

Annapurna School, Wadkinala near Fursungi, Pune, was the first school to get associated with REAT.

A sports day was organized to spread awareness of fitness. In January 2018, a small library was opened in the beloved memory of our dear friend Milind Phadatare. The schoolchildren participated in both events with enthusiasm.
This was a small start, but the satisfaction was immense and strengthened our belief that REAT is the right step for the students in rural schools.

Distribution of School Items

In addition to supporting Annapurna School, REAT identified some immediate needs for a school in Kurundwad. The school was affected by incessant rains that damaged many items. REAT stepped forward and donated useful items like band instruments, books, notebooks and carpets required for nursery classes.
The school principal acknowledged this timely help and appreciated the association with REAT.

Solar Power Project

At Annapurna School in Wadkinala, we came together to install a solar power project. This installation has enabled the school to be self-sufficient in terms of electricity needs and give back additional generated power to the electricity board.

One more step forward by REAT exposed the school to alternate energy.
