These courses include post- graduation. The Institute alumni association is formed with the noble objective of maintaining a lively relation between the alumni .It has its own constitution\/bye laws which govern all the activities, functioning and resolutions of this association.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The prime objective of alumni association is to develop camaraderie in advancing the Institute vision, mission and core values.<\/li>\n<li>An alumnus of the Institute represents the alma mater (Institute) in his\/her sphere of influence and contact. The association promotes bonhomie by maintaining relationships which are mutually beneficial to both alumni.<\/li>\n<li>The Institute warmly recognizes the alumni accomplishments in various fields. This is possible only if there is a channel of communication such as alumni association exists the alumni<\/li>\n<li>The alumni association keeps the Institute updated about the alumni achievements in all spheres.<\/li>\n<li>The Institute maintains the centralized database of its alumni with every department also having their departmental alumni database. The information of these databases is held confidential and never to be shared by any third party organizations.<\/li>\n<li>There are various ways in which the alumni can contribute. The following lists them.<\/li>\n<li>Expert guidance in the field of their expertise and student-alumni interaction.<\/li>\n<li>Assistance in placements and career guidance by interfacing with corporate \/industries.<\/li>\n<li>Expert coaching of Institute sports teams, sponsorship of events.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ANTI-HARASSMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Institute is committed to nurture an environment that of proper conduct and respect between all the stake holders ensuring that none of them is subjected to any sort of harassment. This is to be achieved by enforcement of anti-harassment policy and complaint procedures at all<\/p>\n<p>levels to make the environment absolved of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and\/or sexual assault.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Discrimination, harassment (including sexual\/gender harassment), sexual assault and retaliation against all the stake holders including contractors, interns and other third- parties performing their assigned tasks is strictly prohibited in the Institute campus.<\/li>\n<li>The higher tier personnel are expected to serve as role models of appropriate conduct for all other personnel but everyone will have to uphold higher standards of conduct.<\/li>\n<li>As per the directives of Sexual Harassment of women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redress) Act 2013, the Institute has to constitute a committee.<\/li>\n<li>To sensitize students about the sexual and gender-based violence, its consequences and legal measures available to control it, special sessions of experts may be organized as per the prevailing situation in the campus and the need felt for the same.<\/li>\n<li>To ensure gender equality, fairer sex (female) to be adequately represented in all sections of the Institute.<\/li>\n<li>Any stake holder who feels that he\/she is subjected to any kind of harassment due to his\/her sex\/gender or is witness to any such violation, then the same must be immediately reported to the director who is ex-officio head of the anti-harassment committee or anyone in hierarchy who is deemed to be reported.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>GENDER POLICY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As per the principle of gender equality which is enshrined in the Indian Constitution granting equality to women, and empowering the state to adopt measures of positive discrimination in women, the Institute is committed to be sensitive in the issues of gender. The teachers must recognize these differences and try to meet the needs and aspirations at individual level to the extent of possibility.<\/li>\n<li>Human values and ethics play a distinctive role in molding the psyche of a student. These need to be touched upon by the teacher by means of presenting the importance of values by linking it to the subject being taught, at any stage of student interactions whether classroom teaching or practical sessions. This will have higher acceptability than dedicated sessions for the same.<\/li>\n<li>Blood donation camps, visits to hospitals, old age homes, and orphanages can very effectively inculcate the spirit of generosity and sacrifice towards fellow humans. Hence such events to be highly encouraged.<\/li>\n<li>The Institute is committed to providing Divyangjan or differently able students, equal opportunities for accessing all the facilities available in the campus as per the mandate under Rights for Persons, with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016.<\/li>\n<li>Convenient locations of classrooms and examination rooms for the differently able students are to be allotted.<\/li>\n<li>Additional time during examinations along with service of scribes is to be provided for physically challenged students as per the Government rules and affiliating University.<\/li>\n<li>For easy access to Institute buildings, ramps are provided for convenience.<\/li>\n<li>A special toilet with additional fixtures is provided for the use of disabled students.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Review of staff performance and evaluation of their skills and achievements, is achieved by the annual performance appraisal.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The performance appraisal implemented in the Institute is as per the applicable UGC guidelines, Government of Maharashtra regulations as well as directives of the affiliating university in this regard every year. It is applicable to faculty and non-teaching staff.<\/li>\n<li>The demand from the vision and mission of the Institute is also considered in addition to UGC regulations in the performance appraisal.<\/li>\n<li>The performance appraisal is done confidentially once every year. The appraisal of teaching staff will be carried out by the respective H.O.Ds who will forward it to the concerned Vice-Director. Finally it will be forwarded to the Director. At each stage, the appraisal will be scrutinized and remarks of the HODs, Vice-Director and Director through IQAC will be made.<\/li>\n<li>The appraisal of all the HODs and Directors will be conducted by the Director.<\/li>\n<li>The performance appraisal of non-teaching and administrative staff is conducted by the Institute Registrar who finally forwards it to the Director.<\/li>\n<li>The performance appraisal data is analyzed quantifiably on the basis of documents submitted and feedbacks by IQAC.<\/li>\n<li>After the analysis, the supervising authority scripts its remarks identifying the exceptional\/significant\/satisfactory\/unsatisfactory progress whatever the case may be, and finally mentions the appreciation and\/or areas of focus\/attention for the individual.<\/li>\n<li>The findings and remarks of the supervising authority are communicated to the concerned without delay.<\/li>\n<li>For Key Result Area (KRA) evaluation of teachers, their KRA forms are verified and scrutinized by the IQAC and forwarded to the Director. Finally it is forwarded to competent authority for final evaluation and certification.<\/li>\n<li>Teacher who are due for promotion under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS), their Appraisals, KRA evaluation certificate along with other documents are submitted to the IQAC which verifies and scrutinizes them before sending them to the Director. The Director forwards the proposal to the competent authority\/committee\/institution which is designated by the university the same.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>FACULTY EMPOWERMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Institute teaching faculty has to play a greater role in the planning, decision-making and implementation of Institute policies. They are to be offered greater autonomy, confidence and freedom in making decisions making the system democratic in nature. This will empower them to<\/p>\n<p>work comfortably with all their colleagues and be responsible to their assigned duties without any follow up or supervision. Gardeners and full time adequate support staff have been appointed for the maintenance of gardens and keeping the campus litter-free, clean and Green Campus.<\/p>\n<p>Ban on Single-Use Plastic<\/p>\n<p>The campus of Abhinav Education Society\u2019s Institute of Management and Research, Pune, is a plastic-free campus where there is a complete ban on single-use plastics in classrooms, laboratories, canteen, and in the other premises. The Institute facilitates environment friendly substitutes like stainless steel, washable and reusable tumblers at all water units and mandates the canteen to serve only in stainless steel or paper plates\/glasses\/cups to systematically ban the use of plastics on the campus.<\/p>\n<p>Observance of Green Thursday to Restrict the Use of Petrol\/Diesel Vehicles<\/p>\n<p>As per the suggestion of the Department of Environment Science of the college and also to ensure environmental consciousness, It is unanimously decided on the Ozone Day, 16 September, 2023 by the Institute administration including the Teaching and Non-teaching staff of the Institute that now onwards, every Thursday will be observed as GREEN THURSDAY in the Institute campus and that the students and the staff of the college will be promoted to make use of bicycles, battery-operated E-bikes and the petrol\/diesel vehicles will be restricted inside the college campus.<\/p>\n<p>Rainwater Harvesting<\/p>\n<p>The Institute ensures rain-water conservation through rainwater harvesting. The rain water from the roof top outlets is carried through the well connected pipelines to the wells or is collected in the large water harvesting tanks and the overflowing rain-water from these tanks is discharged in the soak-pits for ground water recharge.<\/p>\n<p>The wells in the Institute is connected to rooftop rainwater harvesting system and the collected rain-water is discharged to the wells.Rain water collected in the tank is supplied to the plants in the Garden of the Institute.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute has established two tanks near the College of Pharmacy for the collection of rain-water which is used for the laboratory use. In addition to this, the overflowing rain water from these tanks is carried to the soak pit for ground water recharge<\/p>\n<p>Excess Water in the Water Harvesting Water Collection Tanks is discharged in the Pit for Groundwater Recharge<\/p>\n<p>Paperless Office and Communication: \u2013<\/p>\n<p>The Institute has a policy to minimize the use of paper in all types of official\/academic communication of the college through E- Communication. The use of paper is substantially reduced through digitization. One-side blank pages are used to avoid wastage of paper. All the college staff have been provided the college E-mail IDs and through which they make all the required official and college-related communication. What\u2019s app \u2013 Class-wise groups, Department wise groups, Committee wise groups have been formed which have reduced the usage of paper in notices and circulars. Moreover, the college has avoided massive usage of paper by introducing the \u201cLearning Management System\u201d wherein references, notes, syllabi, question banks, study material are stored and shared on the e-platform. Some departments have also started accepting E-assignments.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This practice has proved highly beneficial to save money, boost productivity, save space, make documentation and information sharing easier, and help the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Environmental Air Quality Monitoring of Pune City and the Establishment of \u2018Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Smart cities are expected to be urban spaces that provide a decent quality of life to their citizens by offering a clean and sustainable environment. For a Smart city, it is necessary to monitor the environmental conditions for identifying the sources of pollution and mitigate them. A network of low-cost air quality monitoring sensor nodes can be deployed to monitor the air-quality and meteorological parameters across the city. The city can take corrective measures and improve its environmental health by getting acquainted with the various sources causing pollution in the city. A holistic view can be derived, which enables the authorities to make data-driven decisions for the infrastructure and policy planning.<\/p>\n<p>Environmental Air Quality Monitoring of Pune city is carried out by the department of Environmental Science of the campus. The students pursuing the UG and PG studies are involved in this project and get an opportunity to avail the hand-on training of handling the sophisticated instruments used to measure and analyse the criteria pollutants. They also get aware and cautious about the spread of pollution in the city and can work as effective volunteers to control pollution.<\/p>\n<p>The reports based on the meticulous analysis are submitted to the Amravati Municipal Corporation. The Municipal Corporation uses this submitted data for preparing Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) of the city. The AMC has highly appreciated the college for this innovative project.<\/p>\n<p>Solid waste Management<\/p>\n<p>The Solid waste generated in the campus is segregated as bio degradable and non-degradable and handed over to Amravati Municipal Corporation as a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and \u201cOur Pune, Clean Pune\u201d<\/p>\n<p>All the Departments, laboratories, and Classrooms are provided with dustbins for dry wastage disposal. Segregation of the waste into dry and wet waste ia done through the separately allotted dustbins at strategic locations in the Institute.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Water Management<\/p>\n<p>The water for all other purposes is supplied through another set of distribution pipes. The college has two wells with ample water. The ground water from the wells is pumped into the storage tanks \/ elevated service reservoirs located at different places in the campus. The water is distributed through well-laid pipe network.<\/p>\n<p>Entire distribution system is well supervised by the college administration to ensure that there are no leakages and wastages of water through Leakages in the pipelines and the water-taps etc. Regular cleaning of the water tanks is regulated by the administrative staff of the college. All the stakeholders of the college are well-educated to use water economically and efficiently.<\/p>\n<p>Rainwater from the different college buildings is taken to the wells for ground-water recharge. A proper care is also taken to keep the Rooftops cleaned so that unnecessary garbage does not mix with the rainwater leading towards the well. The inlets of these tanks is controlled by the ball-valves to avoid water overflows.<\/p>\n<p>E-waste Management<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>E- waste management by the Department of Computer Application Components and other small devices\/parts of non-repairable equipment\u2019s are used to fabricate new experimental kits \/ power supplies. This is one of the best practices of the Physics department.<\/p>\n<p>The department has started reusing the electronic components from the discarded instruments, PCs, UPS, etc. such as transformers, transistors, ICs, Capacitors, Inductors, Resistors, Connectors, Sockets, Switches, Wires, LEDs and other electronic or electrical devices to fabricate the instruments and experimental kits that are used in the Physics Laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>The students and faculty have also involved in the maintenance and repairs of the instruments and experimental kits, which led to increase their life and the optimum uses. This have not only become a step towards the E-waste management but also cultivated innovative ideas among the students and the faculty. The students have also gained many skills through these activities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Donation of Used Computers to Schools<\/p>\n<p>Our Institute always take an initiative in reducing the digital divide in the rapidly growing digital world. The e-waste of the college is generally not thrown into garbage. Instead, these unwanted\/excess computer machines \/ devices \/ printers \/ scanners \/ keyboards \/ mouse etc. are transferred or distributed among all the schools and colleges coming under Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati. Every year some computers are donated to the various schools so that the students belonging to rural areas get computers for practicals.
